Four luxury holiday cottages with hot tubs, near Goodwood, West Sussex
15 Minutes from the Motor Circuit & Racecourse — Private Parking Hot Tubs — Space for Groups up to 26 — Dog Friendly
Luxury Cottages Close to Goodwood
Goodwood draws people from all over the world, for fabulous motor and horse racing events, golf, and the spa. Oakwood West sits in the village of West Ashling, tucked between the South Downs National Park and the National Landscape of Chichester Harbour — close enough to reach the circuit easily, far enough to leave the crowds behind entirely.
When you return to your cottage, pour a drink, and sink into the hot tub under the stars while you reminisce about your day. In the morning, make breakfast in a proper kitchen at your own pace, we recommend popping to Southbourne Farm shop for handmade sourdough bread and local meats, cheese, and vegetables.
Our four cottages work brilliantly for Goodwood groups. Silhouette's Stable and Meadow Hide suit couples and pairs, each sleeping four. Lucky's Stable and Fern Lodge each sleep six. Lucky's and Silhouette's adjoin and can be booked together for ten, and the gardens can be opened up to share. And for car clubs, corporate hospitality parties and larger groups of friends, the whole site can be taken exclusively for up to 26 guests.

"Our family of six including 2 dogs had an amazing relaxing break.
From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty! The welcoming pack made us feel just that, very welcoming. Everything was explained to us so clearly even what local seasonal events were available to us during our stay. The hot tub was stealthily cleaned every morning and was perfectly positioned in the beautiful garden. Our dogs were safe in the enclosed garden with beautiful walks from the premises. All in all a truly wonderful experience. Thank you Sarah, Jackie and the team!"

The Goodwood Calendar
Goodwood runs year-round, and there's far more to it than the three headline weekends.
Here are some of the highlights.
Festival of Speed
15–18 July 2027
Four days of the world's most exciting cars and bikes charging up the hillclimb, from Formula 1 legends to the newest supercars. The paddocks are open, the drivers are there, and the atmosphere is unlike anything else in motorsport. Tickets go on general sale in November — and they sell fast, so it's worth booking your stay early.
Goodwood Revival
18–20 September 2026
Three days of vintage racing where the whole event steps back into the 1940s, 50s and 60s — period dress, period cars, period everything. Our cottages suit Revival guests especially well: space to hang the outfits, iron in the morning, and a hot tub to recover in afterwards.
Members' Meeting
10–11 April 2027
The 84th Members' Meeting opens the Goodwood motorsport season with historic racing and far smaller crowds than the summer events. Exclusive to GRRC Members and Fellows. Spring in the South Downs is beautiful, and it's a lovely quiet time to be here.
Qatar Goodwood Festival
27–31 July 2027
Glorious Goodwood — five days of world-class flat racing on the Downs, complete with Ladies' Day, live music and one of the most beautiful racecourse settings in the world. A five-day meeting means you can pick your days and spend the rest exploring the coast.
Horseracing Through the Season
April to October
Beyond the summer festival, the Racecourse runs fixtures right through the year — the season opener, the May Festival, family race days, the Three Friday Nights, August Bank Holiday racing, autumn meetings and the season finale. A race day makes a wonderful excuse for a short break.
Goodwoof
Late spring
Goodwood's celebration of dogs, with the breed parade walking from Goodwood House down to The Kennels to open the weekend. All four of our cottages are dog friendly, with safe enclosed gardens, a dog wash area and a doggy welcome pack — so your dog is as well looked after as you are.
Breakfast Club
Select Sunday mornings, spring and summer
Free to attend, and one of the loveliest ways to experience the Motor Circuit. On a handful of Sunday mornings each year the track and historic paddocks fill with cars and bikes gathered around a theme — supercars one month, pre-1986 classics the next — and everyone wanders about with a bacon roll admiring the machinery. Gates open at 7.30am and it's all over by midday, which is where staying 15 minutes away really pays off: you can have breakfast at the circuit and still be back in the hot tub by lunchtime. Entry is free but tickets must be booked in advance, and owners can register a vehicle for display.
Make a Weekend of It
Most people come for one day at Goodwood and then wonder what to do with the rest. There's plenty.
Ashling Park Vineyard is a short walk from us — an award-winning estate with vineyard tours, an interactive tasting room and a beautiful restaurant.
Bosham is five minutes away, a historic waterside village where you can watch the sailing boats, go crabbing, or catch the seasonal ferry across to Itchenor.
West Wittering is twenty minutes down the road, with miles of sand and dunes at the mouth of Chichester Harbour.
Chichester has the Cathedral, the Festival Theatre, the Novium and Roman mosaics at Fishbourne, all within a ten-minute drive.
Kingley Vale is the locals' favourite — an ancient yew forest and a climb to the top of Bow Hill for panoramic views across the Downs.
And both our village pubs, the Horse & Groom at East Ashling and The Richmond Arms at West Ashling, are walkable from the cottages — one of them through our own woodland.
