Looking for a Dog Friendly Holiday in West Sussex?
Updated: Jun 20
The last year has seen a huge surge in dog ownership, so we wanted to let you know how dog friendly our self catering cottages are if you want to bring your furry friend along for your holiday.
Set in grounds of more than 100 acres, our converted stable buildings Lucky's Stable and Silhouettes Stable sleep 8 and 6 people respectively, or 14 altogether! But, there is also plenty of room for your pooches. We've also included an outdoor wash station for your dogs after a muddy walk in the woods, or a sandy frolic on the beach.
Both stables also feature a hot tub (for you, not the dogs!), and both cottages have spacious outdoor terraces with comfy sofas and hammocks.
Perfect for watching the sunset over the surrounding meadows whilst enjoying a BBQ and a drink or two.
Our stables and glamping site are surrounded by wildflower meadows which are perfect for scenic walks, and spotting wildlife. Further afield, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to walks that you can all enjoy.
A Few of Our Favourite Walking Spots Nearby
Kingly Vale Nature Reserve
Enjoy spectacular views from the top of this stunning nature reserve, as well as a beautiful 2,000 year old yew forest. You can also see 3 ancient bronze age burial mounds at the summit.
Chichester Harbour is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Teeming with wildlife, this protected area stretches for miles and miles. Perfect for reviving walks along the shore line.
Check out our blog post about beautiful Bosham which has lots of things to see and do, as well as a beautiful walk along the harbour quay.
Weald and Downland Museum
This unique outdoor museum has over 900 years of history represented in the buildings on site. There are lots of interactive activities, festivals and events all year round too. It also happens to be very dog friendly, with plenty of space for walks through the site and the surrounding woodlands.
Enjoy miles of sandy beaches, including East Head, a national Trust sand bank where dogs can run free off their leads. However, please remember that from 1st May to 30th September, dogs are excluded from the main swimming beach, but there is still plenty of room on the headland. We recommend booking your parking spot at the beach car park in advance.
Close to the town centre this is a peaceful wildlife haven and a wonderful spot for a relaxing dog walk. Keep your eyes open for kingfishers, herons and large dragonflies passing by. Take a picnic and watch the world go by, it's an idyllic way to spend an afternoon.
Dog Friendly Pubs Nearby
Although part of the fun of a self catering holiday is cooking your own meals or having a BBQ on your terrace, there are also lots of lovely pubs close by that welcome dogs. These are a few of our favourites that we look forward to getting back to once the Covid regulations ease.
